Hope for Food make Easter Egg-cellent for families on low incomes in Bournemouth.
This week local charity Hope for Food distributed over 1800 Easter eggs to children in schools across Bournemouth and over 400 food hampers to families on low incomes.
Earlier this month the charity launched its Easter Appeal to all volunteers and supporters through social media, asking them to donate Easter eggs to brighten up the lives of children not so fortunate in Bournemouth. In addition they collected basic food items including tinned and packet goods, so that it could make up food hampers containing daily essentials.
Claire Matthews, founder of Hope for Food, said “We have once again been overwhelmed by the response from our volunteers and the general public. In the current economic climate families across Bournemouth are finding it hard to provide a hot meal each day, and that’s where we can help.”
Hope for Food supports the homeless and families on low incomes in Bournemouth and surrounding areas. Donations of food, clothing and bedding are very welcome at its storage facility at Unit 8, West Howe Industrial Estate, Elliott Road, Bournemouth BH11 8LQ every Tuesday or Thursday morning from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.
