|HOPE FOR FOOD came into being
as a result of a casual conversation between its Founder, Claire
Matthews and a friend.
Claire was horrified by her friends admission that she was being forced to choose between heating her home and feeding her children.
After carrying out some research and talking to different people, Claire realised just how many people were in need of help in the local area.
Deciding to take the bull by the horns ,and with help from her 16 yr old daughter Jessica and close friend, Claire set up Food For Hope and began the task of collecting Donations and organising somewhere to operate a Soup Kitchen a couple of nights a week to begin with.
Luck then played a part with an offer from a local Church of the use of their churchyard two evenings a week for a three month trial period , this has now proved to be so popular that Claire and the Volunteers now feed around 80 people on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Richmand Hill, St Andrews URC and are starting to offer Saturday eves as well this is at Cotlands Rd Car Park, Bournemouth.
We also offer help to families who are struggling to survive in these tough Economic times, please contact us for further details
The aim of Hope For Food is to become a Registered Charity and to achieve this we need to raise and bank £5000 , we are at present collecting donations of clothes/bedding / toys / furniture / cash etc and our supporters are washing /labelling and selling things on eBay to raise money to feed people on a weekly basis and to build up cash in the bank towards our £5000 Charity Registration target.
